Additional Information
My friend at work has what seems like around a thousand belts. The reason she has so many belts is that she says they can really liven up and change any outfit and she loves all the belt buckles. She finds that the amount of different types of belt buckles one can buy can really accessorise an outfit to perfection and, I must say, she always looks perfectly turned out. This week at work she has worn the most amazing variety of belt buckles with a different one every day. It is really good fun in our department. We all get together in the staff room each morning to have a little chat together and we always end up discussing her outfits and her belts. Often the discussion starts with somebody asking her where she got her outfit and belt from and, sometimes, we will all go and get something similar because we like it so much. You might think that this would annoy her, so many people emulating her style, but she is really okay about it and knows that none of us would ever wear one of her looks at the same time as she does.
My husband has a penchant for awesome belts with western belt buckles. He thinks he looks the bee's knees with his western belt buckles and takes great pride and joy in wearing them. The other day, we were meeting some of my friends from work and my husband had not met them before. As we were getting ready, he lined up all of his western belt buckles to choose which one he was going to wear for the occasion. My heart immediately rose and I asked him to please wear them for this meeting. I explained to him that these people were very important to me and I wanted them to have a good impression of him. He immediately took umbrage at me and accused me of trying to change him into something he was not. I told him that I was doing nothing of the sort. All I wanted him to do was to wear the outlandish belts for once so that my friends could focus on him and his attire. At last he agreed to humour me and we had a lovely evening where all of my friends got on beautifully with him.
I had a really bad mishap yesterday. I work in a local high school and was just entering a classroom to teach a lovely class when I realised that something was stopping me from getting through the door. As I looked down, I realised that my belt buckle was caught on a hook on the door and I began to laugh. I thought this would be relatively easy to resolve and I bent down to unfasten the belt buckle from the hook. However, the belt buckle had become stuck in the hook at such an angle that it was impossible to free myself. I then started to panic. My class had now arrived and were standing in the corridor waiting to enter whilst I was getting more and more flustered. I silently thanked my lucky stars that my class were a really nice one and, instead of laughing at my misfortune, they were really concerned. I asked the most reliable and trustworthy member of the class to go and get help and was absolutely mortified when a caretaker had to be brought to free me. I resolved to be very careful when entering that classroom in future.
